Unless I have missed something obvious, the only option I see to use is the overunder grip as shown in Wallerstein. I've been messing around with it; you can do either an undercut by pulling back on the pommel and raising the arms (which while fast and powerful could potentially damage your right ...

A Viking Sword has to be held different than an arming sword. I would put the index finger near the guard but keep the the web of the hand back away from the guard. This will allow the pommel ride comfortably on the fleshy lower part of the palm.
