sparring protection

Has anyone used the body protection employed in jogo do pau? It looks suitable for waster sparring.

There are a number of vids online in which practitioners are wearing the armor. It looks light and seems to offer good range of motion.

hmm, that does look interesting. Might be worthy of further investigation. What kind of sparring weapons are they using in that particular video?

Those are Portuguese staves or "Jogo do Pau".
