If that means what I hope it means, I want a pair.while preserving thumb mobility necessary for sword and other weapons arts that include grappling.
Actually, I have this video. It's okay. It's better than their wrestling video, which is pretty non-specific. This one gives you lots of detail, but they do some things differently, I'm sure (case in point: Krump). They have some decent drills, too. Of course, I'm a bit of a novice, so I might be a worse judge than others, but it seemed worth the money to me--or, at least, not a total waste. Then again, it didn't enthrall me to the point that I had to just watch all of it straight through multiple times, like with some videos. As some may have seen previous posts from me, I was looking for tools to solo train.
I came across this:

Any thoughts?
Also...any thoughts on the products on the page? I am very new, and want to make sure I am not wasting money.
Thanks!

Just so I'm sure: Which glove?I've actually kind of had trouble grappling with them because the palms are so stiff. The little piece that protects the thumb is pretty good though. But really, getting your hands out of the way should be your goal.
Ah, so not the "Medium Padded Sparring Gloves", which I was talking about (and thus the latest mentioned) then. Well in that case it was good that I asked. Both the light sparring and reinforced light sparring gloves. It might be the slickness of the leather as much as the stiffness. This aspect of them might well improve when they get really well broken in, but the motorcylce gloves are that way new.
Thank you, this is very helpful.Steve
I have the Ochs video. The production quality of the video is very good. Overall the interpretation in the video is good, much better than some of the other interpretations I have seen, you can learn much from it. However, there are a number of places where their interpretation is very different from that of John Clements and other senior ARMA members. As someone mentioned earlier Ochs, like all other groups, still follows the old (dated & ineffective) windshield wiper interpretation of the Krumphau. Like so many other groups, in the Vom Tag guard Ochs members also hold their hilt in front of their chest, something not considered martially sound by ARMA.
Thank you. I will use this and ARMA references as tools. DVD ordered.Steve
