Saw the details on ARMA youth costs....thanks! Brit's confirmed that if Shane & I are there, she wants to make it a priority as well. -especially since it is mandated for GFS which is her first major goal in ARMA.

I wouldn't count Israel as a part of Europe.ARMA Greece has held a few. John C. has also taught a class in Israel.
Well yes (actually there are at least at least nine Swedish groups ...with varying levels of cooperation, so it might depend on how you count).Aren't there four groups in Sweden and several around Poland?
I never met them, but I got the impression that the guys in Sweden were pretty hardcore.
See, Sweden is only a short plane away. However, I have absolutely no knowledge of Swedish, would that be much of a problem? There are also groups in Britain, Denmark, Norway, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Austria and maybe some other European countries as well.
My point is, though, that you wont find a 1.0 in those countries, since it is an invention of ARMA, and those groups aren't connected to ARMA.
Well, similar events might occur though...
I may have been wrong in my answer, due to misinterpreting the "such things" bit.
(but then, I'm not sure, what would be similar, since I don't entirely understand what a 1.0 is)
Sorry about that.
I'm not sure how often, when or where though.
I'm a bit new in HEMA and I hardly knew much about groups (didn't seem to necessary), other then my local one, before I went to Swordfish 2007 (does that count as a similar event?)

If you want to remedy that (the meeting bit, not the hardcoreness), you should come to the next annual Swordfish, which is held in Sweden. There were people from at least 8 countries there (not from outside Europe though, which would have been cool. Well, you do have farther to travel...)

Haha!I can shout "Runkare" but that's it really.
