There is some debate on this. If you do wear gloves I suggest motocross gloves. They provide a good palm grip and some shell protection for the fingers and back of the hand. Many here advocate not wearing them.I've been trying to find some gloves to protect my hands. Hockey and Lacrosse gloves have a good amount of padding but feel bulky. Is there a different type I could try? Has anyone tried paintball gloves? I know some advocate not using gloves at all as proper form should protect your hand well enough. However I am music education major and protecting my hands is a must even if it slows my progress a bit. (Pain really is one of the best teachers) I'm willing to try any suggestions.
Thanks
Good point. Remember though that the manuals don't show fencing masks either so one must be knowledgable enough to decide what level of risk he's willing to accept for himself and/or take direction from his Study Group Leader on the matter. One big point is that no manual for blossfechten of any kind that I know of shows the fighters wearing gloves. You see gauntlets in armored combat manuals. At most I use simple leather gloves for long sparring sessions to prevent too many injuries, most of the time I don't use any, it really teaches you to protect your hands.

I wear thin leather gloves with cuffs most of the time.
Looking through that site, these look like potentially good ones also:I found these ( http://garage.mechanix.com/detail.aspx?ID=78 )
Mechanix impact pro gloves at Lowe's. I like them a lot.

Those are really nice, unfortunately the price keeps going up too.
Having just upgraded from a $5 pair of leather work gloves, I felt I was really splurging.[
Yep.Still the cost is much lesser than that of a broken hand or finger. Cheap insurance I think.
