I have trained with Ringen through the Codex Wallerstein, Hans Talhoffer's 1467 manual which was published as "Medieval Combat", and Keith Myers' book, since I was about 15 so roughly 9 years now.Joshua how many years did you train in Ringen ? Which manuals/techniques training you specialy ?
I realize that it's gonna be tough, that's why I'm getting everything together right now. I'm going to start training here soon and it's probably going to be several months before I'm ready to start in my local amateur league. Believe me when I say that I've put a lot of thought into this.I like to see how well it fares against other mixed martial arts as well in a more full contact sport fight like the UFC and other MMA organization. I know kung-fu and karate don't fare well....so I like to see.I have to tell you... Some of those moves will drop you just like that!
I remember reading about how Muay Thai fighters do a straight punch, and I punch the wall in a room in my house... Well, the wall gave in at a little over half an inch!
There was an indentation of fist in the wall. You can see the imprints of my two knuckles!
As to why I was punching it...! That's a secret!
I don't want to go into it. Well, I was upset! [chuckle] that should give some ideas. I think the guy pissed in his pants, though!
