Hello everyone. I've recently moved out here to Anaheim to go to school. I'm looking for a group or school with which to train. My primary area of interest is italian rapier but I'm game for any weapon. I've got grappling experience, a little bit of Army Combatives (which is basically BJJ), and I've tried hard to teach myself the fundamentals of rapier fencing though it was difficult as I trained totally on my own. If you are in this area or near this area and are looking for someone to train with, don't be a stranger.
Thanks!
Dylan

I'm personally in Costa Mesa. Our group meets on or around the Cal State Fullerton campus or else in Irvine--so we are pretty close over here. We usually meet Wednesday nights, Friday afternoons, and quite a few Saturdays, but the schedule is occasionally sporadic.
We're not an ARMA group, BTW, just to be clear; I don't know if you're looking specifically for ARMA groups or for anybody studying the art.
WE have one member who's very interested in rapier, but hasn't got anyone to practice with yet, so he'd definitely be glad to have you come over for a practice. Mostly, our group studies JLT longsword, but we've recently started branching out into staff, sword and buckler and a bit of ringen.
Let me know if you want to check out the group. Here's our forum if you want to ask any more questions:

Hope to be able to meet you sometime soon,
Jason

San Diego's a bit f a drive, but it's not impossible. We have someone driving down from Apple Valley (a similar length drive) and someone from Encinitas (which is essentially next to San Diego). Let me know when you get to this area.Nate Knudson wrote:This is great. I'm moving from the middle-of-nowhere to San Diego CA. I'll definitely check this out.
