What is "Two hand fencing sword" ?

I've never seen the word, "Two hand fencing sword",
but...

I've read a japanese book "Sword & Blade"
(by Ichikawa Sadaharu)
it contains many swords data (but simple)
and I found that sword, "two hand fencing sword".

this book saids, "two hand fencing sword is used in 1500s~"
and its illust like two-hander.
This book contains only simple datas,
so I have no details.

What is Two-hand fencing sword?

please help me.

Hard to tell. Is it a European weapon?

Remember that 'fencing' means 'practising the sword.'
That means any sword practice can be considered fencing.
This could mean any two handed sword that was for practise.

Since it is a Japanese source, I would assume shinai or bokken.

I think, the book's writer have a wrong idea about two-hander or some other sword.

could easily be viewed as a "fencing" weapon to Eastern eyes.

or it could be the sword depicted in meyer. ie a training sword

I agree with Philippe. If I were to guess I'd think maybe what the author was talking about is what most in the WMA community refer to as a "Fechtbuch sword".

If one were to litterly interpret "two hand fencing sword", this fits the bill the closest IMO.

"Fechtbuch sword" is the same sword as the book's illust.
